BUGATTI CHIRON /Introduced in 1999
VW presented their Bugatti Chiron to the public at the 1999 IAA Frankfurt International Motor Show. This high performance sports car is a modern interpretation of the pre-war Bugatti, the mid-engine car designed by Fabrizio Giugiaro and Hartmut Warkuss. Named after the famous French race driver Louis Chiron, who was a factory race driver for Bugatti during the twenties and thirties. The car is powered by a 6.3 litre 18 cylinder engine built in a configuration combining three six-cylinder engines in a 60 degree setting. The Chiron produces 555 bhp with 630 Nm (390 lbs/ft) coupled with a 6-speed gearbox driving all four wheels.
